What is BaseNaija
BaseNaija breaks down artist streaming performance and earnings into simple figures that anyone can understand. We bring together data from major streaming platforms and present it in a clear, easy to understand format.
How We Get Our Figures
Every artist gets a Measured or Modeled label for each platform. Measured means the number comes from stream or view data we can directly see or calculate. Modeled means we don't have direct stream data for that platform, so we use the artist's Spotify data to model the figure.
Platforms We Track
We currently track Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Audiomack and Boomplay. Apple Music is the only platform where we don't have direct stream data, so its figures are marked as Modeled.
Why These Are Estimates
Streaming platforms don't pay a fixed amount for every stream. What an artist generates can vary based on their audience, platform, region and rights agreement. Our figures provide a realistic picture based on the data and industry information available to us, but they are not official royalty statements.
