Pretty sure I’m speaking everyone’s mind when i say that every single person on earth loves good music, from Hip-Hop to Afrobeats music has gradually evolved into different genres.
No doubt Afrobeats is one among the fastest growing genre in today’s music industry, thanks to Nigeria and Ghana who are unarguably the backbone of this amazing genre.
Speaking of good music, the last couple of months has witness a lot of melodious songs from already known acts to upcoming talents on their way to the big league.
We have compiled a list of five top songs in Nigeria and if I’m correct in Africa as a whole. before we begin the list I must say that I’m not surprised Omah Lay is leading, after all he released a new song.
1. Omah Lay – Understand
Months after his 5-tracks extended play record housing his popular song “Godly” the Port Harcourt born singer decided to bless listeners with another sound.
The self-produced track happens to be his first single for the year and it comes ahead of his album which will be released soon according to the singer.
Weeks after the audio, the song received a benefitting visual made possible by video director and photographer, Topshotta.
“Understand“, a sweet soothing mid-tempo melody had Omah Lay talking about the love of his life whom he’s not yet ready to lose.
2. Buju – Outside
Buju stole the heart of listeners with his songs such as “So Lovely” and “Energy”, same thing he did with this new one titled “Outside”.
The former Spaceship Records singer now under his own imprint named “Two Your Ears Entertainment” has kept the attention to himself for the past two months.
His appearance on Blaqbonez’s “Bling” featuring Ghanaian singer, Amaarae and “Feelings” by Mavin Records singer, LadiPoe earned him No. 1 song in the country on those two occasions.
Currently, “Outside” is sitting comfortably at No. 7 on Audiomack top songs in the country chart and No. 6 on Spotify’s Top 100 Naija songs.
3. Jaywillz – Medicine
“Medicine” has been trending on TikTok for over a month now, the melodious love song is no doubt driving listeners crazy.
