Chimezie Prince Ekene professionally known as Decep Lurd is a Nigerian Afro-Pop singer and songwriter from Oru East Local Government Area, Omumma, Imo state.
He was born on 30th of October, 1996 to the family of Mr & Mrs, Chimezie who are based in Enugu state. He is first in a family of six children comprising of 5-boys and a girl.
Decep Lurd spent his childhood growing up in the City of Enugu. A popular urban area located in the eastern part of the country known for producing many of Nigeria’s notable musicians and actors.
Education
Decep Lurd had his primary and secondary school education in Enugu state, obtaining his first school-leaving and WAEC certificate before proceeding to Maurid Polytechnic Afaha Nsit Akwa-ibom State for his tertiary education.
Career
According to Decep Lurd, his interest in music can be traced back to when he was young. Coming from a family of music enthusiasts Decep Lurd had the support of his parents and younger siblings.
He started his career in music professionally back in 2017 and also released his first official record the same year. However it wasn’t until 2020 that he released his first major breakthrough single titled “Tension“.
On 10th August, 2021 Decep Lurd released his first project titled “CEP-VIBES” , an extended play record which houses four powerful tracks. The project was produced by LegendoTwenty, mixed and mastered by Fatboymix.

The 25-year-old singer listens to Afrobeat,
Dancehall, Reggae and Trap and draws inspiration from Wizkid, Runtown, Chris Brown and Future for his own music.
